Chip Shortage Will Last Until 2024, Intel CEO Says

The ongoing chip and semiconductor shortage, which has been affecting technology across a wide range of products–including game consoles–has been going on for about two years now, but Intel’s CEO says we could see it continue until 2024. That could mean continued supply problems on everything from the PS5 to new cars.

Speaking to CNBC, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger said the chip shortages have begun hitting the equipment needed to manufacture products, and “some of those factory ramps will be more challenged.” The company’s previous estimate had the shortage going into 2023, but the volatile nature of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made it pretty much impossible to nail down a firm date.

Intel is taking matters into its own hands to avoid supply bottlenecks in the future, as it’s building a $20 billion chip production facility in Columbus, OH. However, this facility won’t actually be operational until 2025, at which point it’s possible these ongoing supply issues will no …

GTA Sells 5M Copies In Past 3 Months, Jumps To 180 Million In Total Sales

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has revealed that GTA 5 has sold over 180 million units. Even more impressive is five million of these were only sold within the last three months, nearly a decade after the game was first released.

The news comes from Take-Two’s latest earnings report, which stated that GTA 5 has reached over one billion dollars in retail sales “faster than any entertainment release in history.” The report also states that the franchise has sold over 400 million units and that “active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.” Although no date was given for the next GTA, it’s known that Rockstar has been working on another installment. HBO Boss Reveals House Of The Dragon Season 2 Release Date Window And Talks Spin-Offs

The Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon will probably return sometime in 2024, according to HBO programming boss Casey Bloys. He told Variety that a 2024 launch for Season 2 “is a good guess,” but that’s all the executive had to share.

Bloys also remarked that Season 2 likely won’t be eligible for the 2024 Emmy season, which ends May 31, 2024. As such, it looks like fans can expect House of the Dragon to arrive sometime starting from June 2024.

HBO is developing a number of additional Game of Thrones spin-offs, including one focused on Jon Snow, but Bloys wouldn’t be drawn into discussing any of them except for at a very high level. “My philosophy is a good script is number one priority,” he said. “I am not doing it based on wanting to have one a year, two a year. I want to do it based on the scripts that we’re excited about.”

He added: “You have to develop a lot of things, try things. You never know what’s going to work. So we’re currently doing that. I’m…

James Gets Progressively Dirtier And More Tired In The Silent Hill 2 Remake

The Silent Hill 2 remake reimagines the somber story with modern technology, and the tech in place goes beyond providing a new look for environments and monsters. In a dev diary by developer Bloober Team, the designers explained the work involved in recreating the look of protagonist James Sunderland, including features that showcase him becoming dirtier and more tired as you make progress into the story.

“We wanted to stay true to the original design, but we also wanted to use modern technology to expand on the concept of an ordinary man pushed into extraordinary situations,” creative director and lead designer Mateusz Lenart said in the dev diary. “Our version of James has three-day facial hair, you will see his clothes getting dirtier and his face more tired as he progresses through the game.” Over on X (formerly known as Twitter), a player noticed this visual transformation in James’ own fingernails, gaining noticeable dirt over time.

Jeremy Allen White, known for his roles in Shameless and The Bear, has spoken about his being openly disrespectful in a meeting for a “Marvel-y movie” regarding a possible, unnamed project. In a new interview with GQ, White questioned the notion that a Marvel movie might be an actor’s career peak.

White also”I had a meeting for a kind of Marvel-y movie, and I had an attitude. I think I played it all wrong.” White said, adding that he was skeptical, and showed it in front of the executives, with a “tell me about why I should do your movie” vibe. “They were like ‘F*** you,’ and I was like, ‘right on.'”

Despite this, White explained that he remains steadfast in his commitment to independent cinema. He expressed bewilderment at how mainstream Marvel has become the benchmark for actors’ careers, saying, “I am confused at how the pinnacle of an actor’s career has ended up in that place. They get really good filmmakers to do those movies, and obviously they …
